Canada’s New Multi-Party Movement – Leadnow.ca

A new movement have been launched on March 3rd called Leadnow.ca. Their slogan is “people powered change”.  From its website:

Leadnow brings generations of Canadians together to take action for our future and hold politicians accountable.

We’re building an independent community that works together to help set the political agenda, take effective action on important issues, and shift elections.

I wish them luck and success in their endeavour.

Our democratic values could use some much needed boost as they are increasingly being eroded by partisan politicians. The politicians are increasingly impervious to people’s demands. More people are feeling alienated and are starting to tune out from the electoral process. People’s apathy are not because they don’t care. Instead, it is because they feel powerless and had resigned themselves to the fact that one partisan party is not more accountable than the other.

Speaking of citizen’s movement, here is a video from the ongoing Wisconsin protest where the crowd broke out in songs. The protesters sang the Les Misérables song “Do you hear the people sing?”, also called the people’s song. The video is from February 27, 2011.

The original song with lyrics:

I wonder if we can create a new conservative party so that we can split the right wing vote. We can hire actors to run as candidates. Even if the actors only receive one to five percent of the vote, that could be enough to siphon votes from the Harpercons.

A Right Wing Split party WAS created it was the REFORM Party. In the end the REFORM Party ate the Conservatives so that they were no longer Progressive nor a Party. They became a Dictatorship under Stephen Harper. The Liberals Left was nearly eaten by the NDP with BOB RAE so IGGY stepped in and like Brutus stabbed his party leader and took over the leadership. The Liberals eager to seek revenge on the NDP then promoted the GREEN PARTY and encouraged their candidates where it hurt the NDP the most. Now that everyone was splintered Emperor Harper felt free to capitalize on the demorialization of voters.

It still ultimately comes down to Canadians as a whole being just stupid, uninterested and never thinking about their own self interests; and the Cons love it. Canadians get a birth certificate, a SIN card, a Health Card and from that moment on just assume. As a lurker to PG for years the tune never changes; only a small percentage of Canadians actually care enough to bitch about it. I’m glad to know about LeadNow, so thanks for that.
